Meet Casie

​

I have been passionate about horses and mental health for as long as I can remember. In 2017, I made the life-changing decision to return to school and pursue my degree in Psychology at the University of New York in Prague, Czech Republic. While living in Prague, I found myself navigating one of the most difficult seasons of my life. My mother was nearing the end of her 12-year battle with cancer, while I was also enduring the painful aftermath of a long-term domestic violence relationship and a difficult divorce.

 

The grief of losing my mother, combined with having to rebuild my life at 41 years old, often felt overwhelming and unbearable. Yet through it all, I remained determined, resilient, and deeply committed to creating a better future for myself. In 2020, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While this accomplishment was significant, the grief, sadness, and emotional numbness I carried within remained heavy long after graduation. During that time, I felt an undeniable pull toward the quiet strength and healing presence of horses. I found a local barn and began taking riding lessons, initially seeking comfort and connection.

While I enjoyed learning to ride, what impacted me most was the relationship I developed with the horse I rode each week, Houdini. The simple act of brushing him, standing beside his grounded presence, and feeling his calm energy brought me a sense of peace I had not felt in a long time. Horses offered me safety, stillness, and an unspoken understanding. They soothed my anxiety, held space for my grief, and became silent companions during one of the hardest chapters of my healing journey.

What began as a search for comfort soon became a path of profound transformation. Horses taught me that healing does not always require words—it can happen through presence, connection, and trust.

During this time, I met a very special horse named Teddy. In many ways, Teddy reflected parts of myself I was still healing. He was withdrawn, fearful, and anxious, and was diagnosed with PTSD. Like me, he had experienced hurt and a loss of trust. Through our connection, I witnessed firsthand the incredible healing power that exists when horses and humans meet each other with patience, compassion, and understanding.

After completing my Psychology degree, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to learning how to partner with horses to help others heal. In 2022, I studied under Ariana Strozzi and earned my first certification as an Equine Guided Educator through SkyHorse Academy. That experience was deeply transformative and only strengthened my passion for this work. It led me to Colorado, where I committed to an intensive two-year training program under Melisa Pearce to become a Certified Equine Gestalt Coach. I dedicated myself fully to this journey and proudly graduated in December 2024.

As my desire to continue growing and evolving as a practitioner deepened, I pursued a third certification to become a Licensed Equine Facilitator, allowing me to offer Equine Workshops and Retreats. I completed this certification in June 2025.

​

Today, I am incredibly proud that my years of dedication, education, healing, and devotion have allowed me to launch my own business, Flourish with Horses, LLC. Through this work, I have the privilege of serving my local community in Colorado and supporting individuals across the country. Every challenge I have faced, every lesson I have learned, and every horse that has been part of my journey have led me to where I am today. My mission is to create a safe, compassionate space where healing, growth, and transformation can unfold—both for humans and for the horses who walk beside them, and to allow every client to feel seen, heard, and supported as they flourish into the life they were meant to live.
